History
Sanjeevani society, Wardha (SSW) is a Non Governmental, Nonprofit making
Organization established and registered under Societies Act 1860 and public Trust Act
1850 in the year 2004. It works in the grass roots and very much committed for the
development and employment of the neglected and marginalized Section of the society
and in particularly women, youth and children. The organization is present working in
15 villages of Wardha District.
Society conducted a survey in the slums and villages to understand the problems of
drop out girls. It was revealed from the survey that in slums and villages the percentage
of illiteracy, poverty, alcoholism and other social evils are more prevalent and its bad
effect is more on girls.
It was also learned that girls are given a secondary treatment as if they have no right
to live. Some of the girls are interested in study but because of poverty they have to
leave their study and they go for daily wages or they look after their younger once
at home. Though they help in the family they are ill treated by their family and the
society. After having the discussion with these girls the society reaches the conclusion
that if these girls are given support and vocational training they can be self sufficient
and can live a decent life.
